"Mailander House", c. 1917
Craftsman
This house was built for Frank J. Mailander who was in the clothing business in Monticello. Ralph Burgess was the architect and Clement J. Brooks was the contractor who built the house at a cost of about $10,000. This house features the Craftsman style; rectangular shape, two story, with stucco walls, and side gable roof. The full width porch has stucco piers the south end is screen enclosed and the north end has two Tudor arched openings with the stairs being located under the northern most archway. The porch extends to the north as a port cochere. The south elevation has a two-story sunroom with bands of multi-light windows.
The one car garage outbuilding (c. 1920) has stucco sides and gable roof.
