"Kastel House", c. 1925

Colonial Revival

This house was originally built for Monticello attorney Thomas Kastel.  This house features the Colonial Revival style; rectangular shape, one and a half story, with side gable roof with clipped ends.  The center entry door is protected by a projecting gable roof protico with paired Doric columns, arched open-bed pediment, and overhanging boxed eaves.  The original siding has been replaced, and although the house is considered to be contributing to the historic district, a modern garage outbuilding is non-contributing.
