Water and sewer services are billed monthly. Your MCUS statement will include the service dates, the amount due and the due date. Payments received after the due date will be subject to a 10% late penalty.
If the past due payment has not been received by the mailing date of the next bill, a notice of past due account will be sent. If the account holder is a renter, a copy of the notice will also be sent to the property owner/landlord. This notice will include a date of disconnection. Service may be disconnected for non-payment in accordance with City Ordinance 51.47.
When it becomes necessary for the city to disconnect a customer for non-payment of bills, service will only be reinstated after all past due amounts have been paid, in addition to a $50 reconnection fee. Reconnection after shut-off for non-payment will not be available after hours.
