The Alderperson position represents constituents within the respective ward, as well as the overall future of the entire community. With the entire City Council, carries out the official business of the community through a democratic process with the City Council as a whole. The City Council meets the 2nd and 4th Mondays (7pm) of every month, unless posted otherwise. Occasional extra meetings or study sessions may also be scheduled. This position requires the individual to be accessible to the public for input and feedback. The position is compensated and subject to the Open Meetings Act. This position is to fill an upcoming vacancy in Ward 3, to complete a term expiring in April, 2023. State Statute requires applicants to have lived within Ward 3 for a minimum of one year, not have any outstanding payments due to the federal, state and local governments, and must be at least 18 years of age.
