The Landscape Waste Facility, or "the dump" as many residents still call it, is open to the public as a means for Monticello residents to dispose of landscape waste at their convenience and without cost.
Designated areas mark disposal sites for brush, leaves and grass clippings. No treated limber, stumps or items over 12 inches in diameter are allowed. Dumping of non-landscape material into these areas is illegal and will result in closure of the facility by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
The Landscape Waste Facility does close for the winter.
