Adult Recreation Open Gym Volleyball

Takes place at Lincoln School Gym from October 1st - May 6th.  All participants must be at least 16 years of age.  This Program meets on Wednesday's 6 - 8 p.m.  /  Sunday's 2 - 4 p.m.  ($1 daily participation fee)  Simply show up with gym shoes and join in the game.  Brenda Timmons is the program coordinator.

 

 

 

Monticello Recreation Dept. Christmas Coloring Contest Rules

1.  Color in picture using crayons, markers, or paint. Originality counts!

2.  Winners will be chosen on artistic merit.

3.  Judges decision is Final.

4.  Age Categories: 4 & under, 5-8 year olds, and 9-12 year olds.

5.  Forms may be picked up at the Municipal Building.

 

Completed entries with your name, age, address, and phone number may be dropped off at the Monticello Municipal Building or mailed to:

Entries must be received by Noon on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008.  Winning pictures will be posted on the City of Monticello TV Channel 2, and displayed at the City of Monticello municipal building beginning Thursday, December 11th.

 

 

Monticello Rec. Dept. "City Wide Holiday House Decorating Contest"

1.  Enter your own home (FREE)

2.  The contest is open to City of Monticello residents only.

3.  Judging will be based on originality, creativity, and the overall "WOW" effect.  This is not a contest to see who can have the most number of decorations, but rather how eye catching the display is.

4.  Judges will view and photograph houses during the evening of December 10th after 6 p.m. so please have your lights on.

5.  The top 5 homes will then be place on Monticello E-News for the community to vote on.

6.  All decisions are final.

Entries must be received by Noon on Tuesday, December 9th, 2008.  The top 5 homes will be posted on Monticello E-News on Thursday, December 11th.  Voting will take place online until midnight Tuesday, December 16th.  The winner will be the home that receives the highest percentage of votes.  Winners will also receive Monticello Chamber Bucks which can be spent at local businesses.  First Place $50, Second Place $30, & Third Place $20.

 

Holiday Craft Day

The City of Monticello Recreation Department will be hosting a “Make and Take a Holiday Craft” for kids ages 3-6.  This event will take place December (TBA) at the Monticello Municipal Building located at 210 N. Hamilton.  There is a small fee per child and parents are encouraged to stay.  For more information please call the Recreation Department at 762-2583.  Pre-registration is required at the Municipal Building.  Registration is limited!

The Monticello Parks & Recreation Dept. will host a community enrichment program at the Monticello municipal building on (TBA).

Youth (Rec. League) Basketball

This program is not run by the Monticello Recreation Dept.  All youth basketball programs are ran by the Monticello High School Athletic Teams.  Contact the school for more information. 

 

 

"Make & Take a Valentines Craft"

The City of Monticello Recreation Department will be hosting a “Make and Take a Valentines Craft” for kids ages 3-6.  This event will take place Thursday, February (TBA) from 10-11 A.M. at the Monticello Municipal Building located at 210 N. Hamilton.  There is a $2.00 fee per child and parents are encouraged to stay.  Pre-registration is required at the Municipal Building.  Space is limited!
