The Monticello City Council meetings are held the second and fourth Mondays of each month, unless posted otherwise.  Meetings begin promptly at 7:00pm and are located in the City Council Chambers within the Monticello Municipal Building, 210 N. Hamilton St., Monticello.  Meeting agendas may be found online or posted at the meeting site.  Meetings are recorded and broadcasted on Channel 2, the local cable access channel, daily at 10:00am and 7pm.

The City of Monticello is comprised of four wards, with two Aldermen representing each ward.  In addition, a senior student from Monticello High School is appointed to fill the Student Advisor position.
