2010 SWIM TEAM COACHES

Head Coach: Erica Cromwell

Asst. Coach: Colleen Donohue

The Monticello Marlins Swim Team is for youth ages 8 and under through 18.  This is a summer RECREATIONAL swim team with the main emphasis on having FUN.  No prior training or experience is needed.  However, participants should be able to swim at least one length of the pool, 25 meters, with any stroke.

New swimmers will be taught the strokes they don't know.  Lanes will be divided by ability for practices.  This is done so that an individual can improve at his or her own pace.  Coaches will place swimmers in the lane that best matches their ability.  Swimmers are required to make 3 practices each week in order to swim in a Saturday meet.  It doesn't matter how the 3 practices are made.  It can be three in one day or over the course of the week.  The only exception is if a swimmer is at a camp or on vacation.  Attendance will be taken every morning and a sign in sheet will be at the pool office for evening practices.  Swimmers must swim in three meets to be eligible for the conference meet at the end of the season.

Practices start on time.  Please don't come in late.  That puts you behind in practice.  Please let the coaches know when you're going to miss a meet so they don't schedule you to swim.  Arrive to all meets on time or else you will be pulled from the line up.
