Boys Little League Baseball
Little League - Most games are played on Mon/Tues/Thurs evenings at the Forest Preserve Park fields. Divisions are based on age. Practice begins in mid April. Games begin in May.
7 & 8 yr. olds (Coaches Pitch) can't turn 9 before May 1st.
9 & 10 yr. olds can't turn 11 before May 1st.
11 & 12 yr. olds can't turn 13 before May 1st.

Boys Junior Pony Baseball
Jr. Pony is for 13 & 14 yr. old boys. Can't turn 15 before August 1, 2009. However, the league we are in does allow 15 yr. olds who are in 8th grade to participate, but they can't pitch or play in any sanctioned tournaments. This is a traveling league. Home games are generally played in the evenings at the Washington School baseball diamond. Practice begins in mid April. Games begin in May.

Girls City League Slow Pitch Softball
City League Slow-Pitch - Most games are played on Wed/Fri evenings at the Forest Preserve Park diamonds. Divisions are based on the child's 2008-09 school year (current grade). Practice begins in mid April. Games begin in May.

Adult Men's Softball League
All games take place at the Monticello High School softball diamond on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Participants must be at least 18 years old. This is a sanctioned A.S.A class D league. Call the Municipal building for more information. Team registration begins in late March. Season begins in late May and goes through August. Team entry fee is $450.
Monticello Recreation Dept. Easter Coloring Contest
1. Color in picture using crayons, markers, or paint. Originality counts!
2. Winners will be chosen on artistic merit.
3. Judges decision is Final.
4. Age Categories: 4 & under, 5-8 year olds, and 9-12 year olds.
5. Forms may be picked up at the Municipal Building.
Completed entries with your name, age, address, and phone number may be picked up and dropped off at the Monticello Municipal Building or mailed to:

Entries must be received by Noon on Monday, April 6th, 2009. Winning pictures will be posted on the City of Monticello TV Channel 2, and displayed at the City of Monticello municipal building beginning Wednesday, April 8th. Each age group winner will receive an Easter Prize Basket.
Easter Egg Hunt
The Piatt County Child Care Association, in partnership with the City of Monticello Parks & Recreation Dept. and Allerton Park, will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at the Forrest Preserve Park on Saturday, (TBA). Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the hunt starting at 10:00 a.m. The hunt is for all Piatt County children age 12 years and under. Two years ago when the Child Care Association held a hunt, they had around 500 children attend. The Piatt County Child Care Association is looking for volunteers interested in helping with the hunt and for donations. Chicago White Sox Little Sluggers Camp
June (TBA) at the Forest Preserve Park fields from 8:30 - 11:00 a.m. daily. (Pre registration required) $149 registration fee. This camp is for youth ages 5&6. Campers will be introduced to the game of baseball and it's basic skills. Student to instructor ratio is 10:1. Contact the municipal building for a brochure with all of the camp information. Instructors are collegiate coaches, ex-professional players, & full time private instructors. All campers receive White Sox hat, T-shirt, & Six vouchers to a White Sox game.
Chicago White Sox Baseball Camp (Ages 7-10)
June (TBA) at the Forest Preserve Park fields from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. daily. (Pre registration required) $205 registration fee. This camp is for youth ages 7-10. Campers will focus on throwing, hitting, bunting, fielding, pitching, and base running. Student to instructor ratio is 10:1. Contact the municipal building for a brochure with all of the camp information. Instructors are collegiate coaches, ex-professional players, & full time private instructors. All campers receive White Sox hat, T-shirt, & Six vouchers to a White Sox game.
Tennis Lessons
All lessons are offered at the Burke Park tennis courts. Lessons will be offered in the mornings from 8-10 A.M. for youth during the summer. Session is (TBA). Call the Municipal building for more information. $30 fee for youth lessons.
Monticello Adult Tennis Club
The Monticello Tennis Club meets at the Burke Park tennis courts for pick up matches on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. throughout the warm weather seasons. For more information about the club contact Keith Hutson.
Sand Volleyball
Pickup games will take place at the sand volleyball court located in Burke Park on Wednesday's at 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday's at 2:00 p.m. (May - Aug.) Show up, create teams, and play ball. Free of charge.
Street Basketball
Pickup games of basketball will take place at the Burke Park basketball court on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m. (May - Aug.) Simply show up, create teams, and play ball. Free of charge.
Golf Lessons
All lessons are offered at the Monticello Driving Range. Lessons will be offered in the mornings from 8-10 A.M. for youth during the summer. Session 1 is June (TBA) & Session 2 is June (TBA). $30 fee for youth lessons
Summer Swimming Lessons
American Red Cross Swim lessons take place each day for 2 weeks on Monday - Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. - Noon. Youth must be at least 3 feet tall to participate. All classes will be offered each session.

Monticello Marlins Summer Swim Team
Swim team consists of youth who are grouped by age from 8 and under to 18. Swim team practices weekday mornings during June and July at the Aquatic Center. Swim meets take place on Saturday mornings. This is a traveling team so half of the meets are in other area towns.
2008 Monticello Summer Singers
Rehearsals for Monticello Summer Singers will begin June 4 at the Monticello United Methodist Church. Anyone high school aged – adult is welcome to join! Choir rehearses every Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Standards, musical theater, folk and patriotic selections will be performed.
