Youth Soccer League

All games take place at the Dwight B. Wilkey Sports Complex on Saturday mornings in the fall.   Soccer leagues are based on the 2008 - 2009 school year.  Kindergarten (Co-ed), 1st & 2nd league (Co-ed), 3rd & 4th league (Co-ed), 5th & 6th league (Not Co-ed), 7th & 8th league (Not Co-ed). $40 participation fee includes a shirt.

  • Registration begins: July 21, 2008 
  • Registration deadline date: July 25, 2008 

 

Junior Football League 

There are two traveling teams:  (Lightweights = 5th - 6th grade team & Heavyweights = 7th - 8th grade team).  All home games take place at the Monticello High School football field usually on Sunday afternoons.  Divisions are based on the 2008 - 09 School year.  Age Stipulations:  If an individual turns 13 on or before December 1, 2008 they must play in the Heavyweight Division.  If they turn 15 on or before October 5, 2008 they can't play at all.

  • $65 participation fee.
  • Registration: July 17, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the municipal building.  Practice begins July 28th

Monticello Adult Tennis Club 

The Monticello Tennis Club meets at the Burke Park tennis courts for pick up matches on Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. throughout the warm weather seasons.  For more information about the club contact Keith Hutson

 

Adult Recreation Open Gym Volleyball

Takes place at Lincoln School Gym from October 1st - May 6th.  All participants must be at least 16 years of age.  This Program meets on Wednesday's 6 - 8 p.m.  /  Sunday's 2 - 4 p.m.  ($1 daily participation fee)  Simply show up with gym shoes and join in the game.  Brenda Timmons is the program coordinator

 

Halloween Coloring Contest Rules

1. Color in picture using crayons, markers, or paint. Originality counts!

2. Winners will be chosen on artistic merit.

3. Judges decision is Final.

4. Age Categories: 4 & under, 5-8 year olds, and 9-12 year olds.

5. Forms may be picked up at Municipal Building.

 

Completed entries with your name, age, address, and phone number may be dropped off at the Monticello Municipal Building or mailed to:

Entries must be received by Noon on Tuesday October 21st, 2008.  Winning pictures will be posted on the City of Monticello TV Channel 2, and displayed at the City of Monticello municipal building beginning Wednesday, October 22nd.

 

3rd Annual Trick or Treat at Nicks Park

The City of Monticello Recreation Department invites all youth to the 3rd Annual Trick-or-Treat at Nick's Park, held from 5-7pm on Halloween night.  All witches and ghouls, as well as pirates, princesses, and super heroes, are encouraged to stop by for some Halloween treats at a SAFE location.  Booths will be set up under the pavilion and around the park offering trick-or-treaters candy and other surprises.  Come with a really unique and creative costume and get your picture on TV Channel 2!  Last year's event brought in over 400 children in costume!  Don't forget to bring your camera!
