Youth Soccer League

All games take place at the Dwight B. Wilkey Sports Complex on Saturday mornings in the fall.   Soccer leagues are based on the 2012 - 2013 school year.  Kindergarten (Co-ed), 1st & 2nd league (Co-ed), 3rd & 4th league (Co-ed), 5th - 8th league (Not Co-ed as long as we have enough particpants). 
$45 participation fee includes a shirt.

Junior Football League 

There are traveling teams:  (Lightweights = 5th - 6th grade team & Heavyweights = 7th - 8th grade team).  All home games take place at the Monticello High School football field usually on Wednesday evenings or Sunday afternoons.  Divisions are based on the 2012-13 School year.  Age Stipulations:  If an individual turns 13 on or before September 1, 2012 they must play in the Heavyweight Division.  If they turn 15 on or before September 1, 2012 they can't play at all.  

  • $80 participation fee.
  • Registration: July 12, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the municipal building.  Practice begins July 23rd

 

Adult Recreation Open Gym Volleyball

Takes place at Lincoln School Gym from October 2nd - April 2012.  All participants must be at least 16 years of age.  This Program meets on Sunday's only from 2 - 4 p.m.  ($1 daily participation fee)  Simply show up with gym shoes and join in the game.  Brenda Timmons is the program coordinator

 

 

Halloween Coloring Contest Rules

1. Color in picture using crayons, markers, or paint. Originality counts!

2. Winners will be chosen on artistic merit.

3. Judges decision is Final.

4. Age Categories: 4 & under, 5-8 year olds, and 9-12 year olds.

5. Forms may be picked up at Municipal Building starting Oct.1st.

 

Completed entries with your name, age, address, and phone number may be dropped off at the Monticello Municipal Building or mailed to:

Entries must be received by Noon on Tuesday October 23rd, 2012.  Winning pictures will be posted on the City of Monticello TV Channel 2, and displayed at the City of Monticello municipal building beginning Wednesday, October 24th.  Each age group winner will receive a Prize Basket.  All participant pictures will be displayed during the Halloween Fest event.

 

 

2012 Trick or Treat Nicks Park

The Monticello Recreation Department will host a night of FREE Halloween Fun and Games on Monday, October 31st Trick or Treat from 5-7 P.M. at Nicks Park in Monticello.  This event is geared toward children ages 12 & under.  Be sure to wear your Halloween costumes, bring a collection bag for goodies, and bring your cameras.  In case of rain event will be moved inside to the Livingston Center.

Monticello Rec. Dept. "City Wide Holiday House Decorating Contest"

1.  Enter your own home, a neighbors home, or a friends home (FREE)

2.  The contest is open to City of Monticello residents only.

3.  Judging will be based on originality, creativity, and the overall "WOW" effect.  This is not a contest to see who can have the most number of decorations, but rather how eye catching the display is.

4.  Judges will view and photograph houses during the evening of Wednesday, December 5th after 5 p.m. so please have your lights on.

5.  The top 5 homes will then be place on Monticello E-News for the community to vote on.

6.  All decisions are final.

Entries must be received by Noon on Tuesday, December 4th, 2012.  The top 5 homes will be posted on Monticello E-News on Thursday, December 6th.  Voting will take place online until midnight Tuesday, December 11th.  The winner will be the home that receives the highest percentage of votes.  Winners will also receive Monticello Chamber Bucks which can be spent at local businesses.  First Place $50, Second Place $30, & Third Place $20.

 

Babysitting Clinic

Learn skills and information necessary to offer safe and responsible care for children in the absence of their parents and/or guardians.  Participants will develop skills in leadership, safety and safe play, basic care and professionalism.  The class is offered 3 different dates, 6 - 8 pm at the Livingston Center.

 

Session 1:  November 9, 2011

Session 2:  January 18, 2012

Session 3:  April 11, 2012

Age: 11-13 years

Cost: $10 participation fee, includes guide

Registration: Call or stop by municipal building to register. 


2012 Make It / Take It Crafts

Feb 7th - Make a gift for your special valentine.

March 6th - Celebrate St. Patricks Day with a special craft.

April 3rd - Make a special Easter craft.

May 8th - Make a mother's day craft for mom.

 

Age:  3 to 5 years with parent or guardian

Cost: $5 per session

Registration: Registration accepted two weeks prior to each event at municipal building.

 

Youth (Rec. League) Basketball
This program is not run by the Monticello Recreation Dept.  All youth basketball programs are ran by the Monticello High School Athletic Teams.  Contact the school for more information.
